Teddy Bear Cholla Wood
Cholla Wood provides a food source for biofilm that shrimp will feed on, similar to what Catappa leaves do. Cholla wood also provides hiding places for shrimp after they molt or when they are feeling vulnerable.
Teddy Bear or Jumping Cholla (Opuntia bigelovii)- This species of cholla is native to the Sonoran Desert of western Arizona, southern Nevada and southeastern California. It is easily recognizable by its bright yellow thorns. The skeletons from these cholla are larger are typically have a diameter of 2"
